Visit Lagos

Lagos is a historic and beautiful city that is situated on the Western Algarve coastline. As a holiday destination, Lagos has a lot to offer,  great beaches, buzzing nightlife and a lovely historic centre, which has retained its traditional character and charm. The centre is surrounded by ancient Moorish walls and overlooks the harbour. Close to Lagos is a variety of activities and sights, which range from waterparks and zoos through to historic monuments as well as hiking trails. To the south of Lagos you can visit the the Ponta da Piedade headland, where you will find weathered cliffs that are lined with spectacular grottos and sea caves, and are famous for being one of the the finest natural feature of the Algarve. Heading east of Lagos is the stunning Meia Praia Beach, which is the longest sandy beach in the area. You can also visit  other interesting towns, near Lagos,  we recommennd Sagres, Silves, Luz and Portimão for a day trip. You might also like to visit the water parks and theme parks of the region. There is Slide & Splash, which is close to the town of Lagoa, or  Zoomarine which is an excellent marine park that specialises in dolphins. Great fun for younger children is Lagos Zoo. Children (and adults) of all ages will certainly love the unique experience of boat trips that depart from the harbour.
